Huge Success for Cambridge Guided Busway!

Huge Success for Cambridge Guided Busway!

The Cambridge Guided Bus, which is the longest of its type in the world connects Huntingdon and St Ives to Cambridge City Centre and Addenbrookes Hospital.

Only five months on from its launch in August 2011 the Guided Bus is flourishing with over 200,000 trips are being taken on it every month.  The millionth traveller is expected to travel in mid-January 2012.

The Busway operators Stagecoach and Whippet are delighted with the popularity of the service and have indicated that demand has way exceeded their business forecasts.  There has been a 100% increase in passengers on the guided bus compared to the routes it replaced since the launch in August.  Additional services are already being put on with plans for new buses going ahead.
